  • Name Significance:
    • "Red Velvet/Night Flower" reflects red fruit flavors and velvety elegance.
    • Derived from the Swahili phrase nyekundu hariri, meaning “red velvet.”

The original text of Yerihar in Swahili (kiswahili) is nYEkundu HARiRI. nyekundu means red, and hariri means velvet. Together they are red velvet. "Swahili" is one of the most widely spoken languages in Africa and one of the two official languages of Kenya, the other official language being English. "Red Velvet/Yelihua" represents the flavor elements of this coffee. Red represents red fruits such as cranberries, cranberries and roselle flowers, while velvet represents its elegant velvety fruits. Its transliteration is "Yelihua". "Flower" cleverly brings out elements such as black currant and ebony plum, as well as the aroma of roselle and dried cranberries.
